The Art of Letting Go

The Art of Letting Go

Apr 2, 2025

Greetings,

Today, I want to talk to you about something that’s often overlooked on the journey of manifestation—the art of letting go. It’s something so simple, yet so powerful, and it can make all the difference between waiting in frustration and receiving in flow.

I was recently chatting with a dear friend who’s been searching for work. She’s been applying, interviewing, and getting so close to offers, but nothing seems to stick. As we spoke, I could feel the energy she was radiating—an intense desire mixed with worry, frustration, and that heavy vibration of “Why hasn’t it happened yet?”

And it reminded me of a season in my own life…

When I Had to Let Go

Years ago, I lost a job I genuinely despised. While the loss itself felt like a blessing, it also left me with the very real need to find a new source of income. I started applying for jobs and going on interviews, but none of them felt right. Every person I met seemed to carry the same energy as the place I had just left—stressful, unkind, and misaligned with what I wanted.

Then one day, I was about to accept a job offer, phone in hand, ready to say yes… and something in my spirit whispered, “Don’t do it.” The message was crystal clear: “This will be just like before. You’ll be miserable.”

So I did the brave, scary thing: I said no. And immediately after, I felt this strange mix of relief and dread. I needed a job—but I knew that wasn’t the one.

I sat in my car, still parked from running errands, and just talked to God. Or the Universe. Or Infinite Intelligence—whatever name resonates with you. I said, “I don’t know why I didn’t come to you first with what I wanted. Here I am trying to force everything.”

Right there in that moment, I clearly laid out the four main things I wanted in a job—none of them were about salary or job title. They were all about how I wanted to feel and the environment I wanted to work in. And when I was done, I said, “Okay God, this is in your hands now. I don’t know how this is going to happen—and I don’t need to. That’s not my job.”

And then… I let it go.

I stopped worrying. I stopped chasing. I allowed myself to get excited about what might unfold.

And just 2–3 days later—yes, really—I got a call from someone I used to work with, offering me a job in their new company. Every single one of the four things I asked for was present. Every. Single. One. That’s when I realized I had forgotten one of the most important spiritual truths: you don’t have to do it all alone.

“One’s Ships Come in Over a Calm Sea”

That moment brought back something I’d read in Florence Scovel Shinn’s The Game of Life and How to Play It. She talks about leaving things in the hands of Infinite Intelligence to arrange, rather than trying to force things yourself. One quote that has stayed with me is:

“One’s ships come in over a calm sea.”

And wow—was I ever not a calm sea during my frantic job search! But when I handed over my desire, made peace with it, and got into a space of calm and trust, my ship came in—and fast.

So when I heard my friend in that same energy of desperation and doubt, I knew exactly what she needed. I gently encouraged her to get clear—really clear—on what she wanted. Then I told her to hand it over. To surrender it to God, to the Universe, to the Divine. To trust that Infinite Intelligence already has a plan unfolding. Her job wasn’t to chase. Her job was to ask, release, and receive.

A Powerful Affirmation

If you find yourself in a similar place—searching for a job, a relationship, a breakthrough—consider using this beautiful affirmation from Florence Scovel Shinn. It has brought peace and clarity to so many:

“I have a wonderful work in a wonderful way.
I give wonderful service for wonderful pay.”

Let those words wash over you. Feel them in your heart. And then, let go. Trust that your desire has been heard, and that something even better than you imagined may be on its way.

Because it’s not about trying harder.
It’s about aligning, asking, and allowing.

With love and trust,
✨💛

You are always supported, even when you don’t yet see how.
